All Smiles...

Mr. Gage has officially reached smiling status, and I LOVE it! He actually started smiling here and there at about 5 weeks, but I never could catch it on camera. Staring last week at 7 weeks old, he has been smiling all of the time! My favorite is when Braeden makes a huge exaggerated smile at Gage, and says "where's your smile Gagey-poo?" and then Gage grins from ear to ear :)

I finally caught him smiling when I had my camera out. This picture doesn't do justice for the melt your heart smile this boy has!

Newborn pics...

When Gage was about a week old, a good friend of ours, Stephanie, did his newborn pictures. She is a great photographer, and couldn't be happier with how the pics turned out...check her out! http://www.stephanieshirley.com/

Here are a few from the session...

Gage is one month old...

Happy One Month, sweet boy!

His stats...
8 lbs 13oz
21.25" long

Gage is such a sweet little guy. He likes to sleep during the day and party at night. But he doesn't really "party", he's just wide awake. When he needs something he rarely cries, instead, he grunts to get our attention. He eats anywhere from 3-4 oz a feeding every 3 hours. He doesn't sleep very long stretches at night (4 hrs at most), but I'm not complaining, it just means more snuggle time for me :)

When Gage was born, he didn't look like Braeden at all, but as the weeks go by, he is looking more and more like his big bro. I don't think they will look exactly alike, but I think they will look more like brothers than I once  thought they would. My predictions: Gage will be tall and thin (tall for our fam= 6ft.), and Braeden will be a bit shorter and more muscular. I will try and post comparison pics soon, but right now I don't have them on this computer. Until then, enjoy a cute brother moment...

Mr. B

Just want to be sure and give him some special blog time.He cracks me up everyday and puts a huge smile on my face :) Without further adieu, here are some pics of Mr. B that make me laugh...

This is what I got when I asked for him to smile...
 then this...
and still a bit cheesy, but it's a smile!

Yes, Zach has seen these pics. No, he doesn't approve. But I think it's hilarious! This is what happens when I leave out my stuff and turn my back. B thought it was pretty funny...
Don't judge...you boy moms out there know you've let your boys do this. Priceless blackmail for the teen years ;)
and yes, he has a thing for shoes...but he doesn't let it get in the way of his sports. (He's shooting the basketball here, you just can see it)
at least these shoes are my boots and not heels :)
See...a man's man. Playing with his cars at a baseball game.
Just thought I'd throw this one in. We found this on the coffee table one night after we had put B to bed. Ever since he saw my car get towed, he loves to put "cars on top". Pretty amazing how he balanced them if you ask me!

I am so in love...

with my BOYS!! I just can't get enough of them :) My favorite is when they are all together...

Ahhh, doesn't that just melt your heart?!?! Here a few more of the littlest boys in my life...

 Sweet kisses

Playing "This little piggy" with Gage's toes ;)

B really wanted to feed Gage, and he took it very seriously...he fed him almost the entire bottle!

 LOVE it!

This precious face makes it worth all of those sleepless nights...

Sweet boy :)

Gage is here!

Gage Hampton is finally here, and just in time for Christmas! He was born December 16th at 6:35pm via c-section. He weighed 7lbs 2oz and was 19 in long (we later have figured out that he was likely longer than that...)

So here's how it all went down:

I had a doctor's appointment Thursday December 16th. While there I started to feel what I thought were contractions. When the doctor came in I didn't say anything right away. She did the exam and told me I was already 3 cm dilated which was quite a change from the week before. We decided to schedule a c-section for the next day (he was still breech) so that I didn't go into labor. Well, right about that time I felt another contraction and the doctor put her hand on my stomach to feel. I told her I had one just like that before she came in. I then mentioned to her that I had had a few other labor signs scattered throughout the week. So, she had me go to the lobby and time my contractions to see if they were consistent. Well, they were! They went from 12 min- 10-7-3. I went back to her office and she told me to head over to Labor and Delivery and that we were having the baby tonight, probably around 8.

Did I mention that I had Braeden with me?! I told Zach to stay home because I was sure nothing was going to happen, and I wanted B to be with me so he could get last minute things done around the house. Oops! I called Zach to meet me, but he still had to get bags together and then drive down to the medical center (a good 45 min away). No big deal I thought, the c-section wasn't till 8 and it was about 3:30. I had Braeden in his stroller and I got hooked up to the monitors. After a little while the nurse told me she wanted to take him out and let him roam the room, so now we had a 2 1/2 year old on the loose :) Braeden was loving the freedom! He also enjoyed watching the nurse put in my iv and draw some blood. He thought it was "cool". We might have a future doctor on our hands...

While on the monitor the nurse informed me that my contractions were much closer together than I had thought. They were 2-3 minutes apart! So, the c-section was moved to 6 or 6:30. Great, only no one was there yet and it was now 5:30. At this point I am sure that I am going to have to leave Braeden with some other nurses (who were excited to do it...B is such a ladies man!), but it still made me a little nervous. I am also fearing that Zach won't make it because he is stuck in Houston rush hour traffic. Fortunately my dad works nearby and Zach's brother was about 20 minutes away. A little before 6:00, Zach comes rushing in, a few minutes later my dad, and then Cole (who had the lollipops for Braeden...he had been asking for them every 5 minutes since we got there). Soon after, I was wheeled into the operating room. They went ahead and checked me, and I had dilated to 5 almost 6 cm at this point....ahhh! Good thing I didn't go home and wait for the next day :) Things went really fast from here, and at 6:35 pm Gage was born! He weighed a mere 7lbs 2oz, and was 19 in long...just a little guy!

Here a few pics...
