Gage meets some of his Great Grandparents...

I late February Gage finally got to meet his GiGi (my mom's mom) and Pop-pop. They were busy moving when he was born, so we waited to go for a visit until they were settled in. It was so fun visiting with them, and I think they really enjoyed meeting their newest great grandson :) I forgot to get a picture with Pop-Pop, but here's one of Grandma (GiGi) with Gage....

And then in early March, Zach's Moo Pig (Grandma) came in town from Dallas. This was also her first time to meet Gage. It was so sweet to see her holding Gage. Here is a picture from that meeting...

Zoo x 2...

Guess I should have gotten a membership to the zoo when we first went back in December. We have been 2 more times since then, and I am zoo-ed out! It's lots of fun, but I think a nice 9 month break with be good for us :) And I say 9 months because that's about how long it will take for the weather to be cool enough for me to want to go again. We went in February with some friends of ours, the Hanson's. Braeden had fun on his "first date" with Reese. They were soooo cute holding hands throughout the zoo. Here are some pics of our day at the zoo...

This "daddy" lion was not very happy that the "mommy" lion was messing with him. They got into it for a bit, and it was pretty funny. Usually when you go to the zoo, the lions are sleeping, so any action is pretty cool! I later found out that the male lion used to be a pet (crazy people!), and he was DECLAWED. When he got too big to take care of him, he was brought to the zoo. Because he is declawed, I guess he is less manly, so the female lions pick on him. Poor lion :( It's not his fault he had some idiot people think it was okay to keep him as a pet and then have him declawed like a domestic cat.

Here he is "marking his territory" after the confrontation- lol!

Little man sleeping- so cute!

Still enjoying their "date" :)

Daddy and Braeden at the end of the day...LOVE them!

Then we went to the zoo again during Spring Break with Uncle Ryan and soon-to-be Aunt Erin. Let me tell you, I will NEVER go to the zoo again during Spring Break. The parking was 10x worse than it is on a pretty weekend, and if you've ever been on a nice weekend, you know what I mean. Let's just say I got quite the workout that day. Once we got into the zoo, we had a lot of fun! We even got to see the new baby giraffe, and Braeden LOVED that :) Here are some pics from that trip...

Notice a trend on this blog...NO pics of me with the kiddos. I'm there, I'm just the one always taking the pics :)

LOVE Zulily!

I have been getting Zulily emails every morning for a few months now. They always have great deals on kids things, but they don't always have the right size, or I'm not fast enough and they sell out. Finally, I got a great deal and they had the right size :) I got crocs for almost half off for Braeden!

I was just at the mall the other day, and almost bought some for Mr.B, but they didn't have his size. Lucky me, because now I got them for less. Zach would be so proud of me...though he'd probably be even prouder (I don't think this is a word...oh well!) of me if I didn't buy them at all-lol! Anyhow follow the link above for some of your very own crocs!! Also, if you sign up, you'll find out about their new deals every morning. If you have a girl, this is a must see website. The stuff for boys is ok, but there are always a TON of tutu, leggings, headbands, and dress type of stuff. Happy shopping!!

"Knock-knock...

Who’s there??...Poo!”

Gross!!! Who comes up with something like that you ask?! My almost 3 year old BOY! Yep, we are not potty trained quite yet, but we LOVE to talk about potty things. B’s favorite is to tell us this lovely, Braeden Original, knock-knock joke while we are changing his diaper full of #2. Ahh, the joys of boys… and I’ll admit it is really funny and I usually laugh, but I try to leave the room first.

I have been talking with B about how all of the boys and girls in his class use the potty, and that maybe he might want to start using it too. (He likes the potty, he just won’t tell you when he needs to go-too busy!) I mentioned how it’s yucky to sit in a poo-poo diaper. Well, next time I will be sure to word things differently. The day after our chat, B went down for his nap (with his clothes ON). When I went to get him up, I noticed that his covers were pulled up high, and I could see his shoulders- sans shirt…

I asked him if he was dressed, and his response- “No, I’m naked!” as he threw the covers off. OMG…this can’t be good. I then notice his diaper was across the room, along with his clothes. I then look down to find some chocolate presents. That’s right, my kid pooped on the floor- glorious! And it gets better…I was sure his diaper had been off for a while, so naturally this kiddo had to have gone #1 somewhere. I pulled the covers back, and there was the pool of evidence. Yea! When I asked him why he did this, he told me- “I had to poo and didn’t want it on my bottom.” At least he took our conversation seriously.

FYI- this happened again a few days later. And this time the #2 wasn’t as easy to clean, and it was on a few pieces of furniture as well as stuck to his bottom. No pee on the bed this time…instead he went on the carpet- even better! So needless to say B has a long ways to go with this potty thing, but it can’t get much worse, so bring it on :) And be thankful that I didn't post pictures...I have them, but I'll leave that for us to laugh at!

(On a side note, I started writing this blog a few weeks ago…since then we are in pull-ups and seem to be heading in the right direction to being potty trained. Check back soon to see if we’ve made any progress!)

Gage 2 month and 3 month update...

So things have been just a little busy around here ;) These last 2 months have flown by! I can't believe that my little Gagey-poo is already 3 months old. Here are his stats:

2 Months
- 11 lbs. 13oz. (55%)
- 22.5 in. long (36%)
- size 2 diapers
- wearing mostly 0-3 month clothes, but quickly heading towards 3-6 months. (Which for boys clothes means he can almost wear the cute little man outfits ALL the time!)
- sleeping anywhere from 2-6 hrs at night...Gage is not exactly our super sleeper. He likes to party at night (and he has acid reflex, which doesn't help either), but we are working on it!
- started smiling ALL the time at 7 weeks, and is starting to coo. So sweet to listen to!
- does NOT like tummy time, but that also has a lot to do with his reflux.
- he LOVES to be around his big brother...he lights up when he sees Braeden. It melts my heart!
- Gage is a fighter. At 5 weeks old, he came down with the flu...the real flu :( He didn't have many signs of it, but I knew he had been exposed because some people we were hanging out with the weekend before all came down with it, and tested positive for it. Not to mention, I had symptoms and so did Zach. After a day full of dr. appts, we found out that Zach, Gage, and I all had the flu. Unfortunately there was nothing we could do except pray that Gage kept his fever down. (He started to show minimal signs of the flu the evening after he tested positive.) Prayers worked, and we were blessed to keep sweet little Gage out of the hospital! Note to self, and everyone reading this: get the flu shot!

3 Months
- not too sure about his weight and length since we did not have a dr. appt this month, but based on how his clothes fit, he's growing FAST!
- size 2 diapers
- 3-6 month clothes, but starting to wear a few 6-9 month
- sleeping at night much better...6-9 hours! He's still in our room, but I plan to move him into his own soon. I'm just nervous about messing up Braeden's good sleeping record :)
- talking a lot, especially with his big bro. He just LOVES Braeden, and B loves him. Braeden is always talking to him and telling him to "give me those smiles Gage!".
- Gage really enjoys watching people. He likes to be in the middle of what's going on, and gets upset if he is not included.
- He likes noisy places, but does NOT like abrupt sounds...like sudden cheering at a baseball game. This must change quickly, especially since the Astros baseball season is starting. This is strange to me because Braeden could sleep through the canons going off at a UT football game, so cheering was never an issue. Should be interesting ;)

I have really adjusted to my life with 2 boys. I can get in and out of the car much faster now, and am learning everyday how to be more efficient with my time. I LOVE my life and my boys!

A few pics from the past 2 months...

All Smiles...

Mr. Gage has officially reached smiling status, and I LOVE it! He actually started smiling here and there at about 5 weeks, but I never could catch it on camera. Staring last week at 7 weeks old, he has been smiling all of the time! My favorite is when Braeden makes a huge exaggerated smile at Gage, and says "where's your smile Gagey-poo?" and then Gage grins from ear to ear :)

I finally caught him smiling when I had my camera out. This picture doesn't do justice for the melt your heart smile this boy has!
